Welcome to Penvelope. These terms are the agreement between you and Penvelope when you use our website and subscribe to our letters. By subscribing or using the service, you agree to what follows. Please read it, we have kept it short and clear.

The service

Penvelope is a subscription service that sends you warm, personal letters at the frequency you choose. Letters are written with the help of artificial intelligence, guided by the preferences and details you share. Penvelope is meant for enjoyment and companionship. It is not a substitute for professional advice, whether medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.

Your account

You agree to give accurate information when you subscribe and to keep your contact details up to date so we can reach you. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account. Penvelope is intended for adults aged 16 and over.

Subscriptions and payment

• Your subscription is billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring basis, at the plan and frequency you select.
• Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
• You can cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again after that.
• Unless the law requires otherwise, payments already made are not refundable for time that has passed.
• We may change our prices. If we do, we will give you notice before the change affects your next renewal.

Acceptable use

Please use Penvelope kindly and lawfully. You agree not to use the service to break the law, to harass or harm others, to send us unlawful or abusive content, or to interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.

Your content and your letters

Anything you share with us stays yours. By sharing it, you give us permission to use it for the purpose of writing and delivering your letters and running the service. The letters we write for you are for your personal enjoyment. You may keep and read them freely, but you agree not to resell them or present them as a commercial product of your own.

Availability

We work hard to keep Penvelope running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error free. From time to time we may need to pause the service for maintenance or improvements.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Because letters are generated with artificial intelligence, their content is meant to be pleasant and personal rather than factually authoritative, and you should not rely on them for important decisions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Penvelope will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Penvelope and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or use the service in a way that could harm it or other users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, let you know by email. If you keep using the service after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.
